January update

… a little bit about what I’m up to

an empowerment themed photoshoot in Naperville illinois

Every winter I’ve lived in the midwest, I have found it a challenge to deal with the “winter blah’s”. My energy can dip when I don’t see the sun, my creativity stalls, and because I’m such a “busybody”, I fight against the natural rhythms of Mother Nature.

This year, I’m challenging myself to think about this season as a time of year to reset a few things, re-fresh a few things, and deeply rest.

January has found me re-engaging a bit in my role as a Clinical Therapist. I’m opening up some new spots in my practice, offering some in-person options for the first time in almost a year of being all-virtual, and have been doing some extra training.

I’m hoping to shoot new work at some point. But for now, I’m thinking about this session I did last year that sparked a lot of ideas about soulful portraiture for women. Sharing a few of my faves from my time with @fitnessbyanell

I’m thinking about February and the idea of portraits celebrating “self love first”. If you or someone you know is interested in a soulful session for February, hit me up. Hope you are making it a great day.
